Tips How To Appreciate Ur Father

Today is a father’s day. Father’s day is to honor all the fathers for everything they did for their children. This is some kind of occasion to express gratitude towards ur dad for all his love and his support.
But, almost all of the newspaper, blogs and electronic media are only talking about what gifts should we get for our fathers on this special day. Why only talking about gifts?
There’s another meaningful thing that we can do to our father instead of buying them an expensive gift.
So here are the tips :

-          Hug and Kiss Ur Father’s Cheek
So when is the last time u hug and kiss ur father? Don’t remember? Why? Do u think that u are big enough now and no longer need to hug and kiss ur father? Well, that’s wrong. There’s nothing to shame of by hugging and kissing our own parents. No matter how high u are, no matter who u are, no matter how much money do u have, u still have to love and respect ur father because u will never get to stand on ur feet like today if it not because of ur father. Do it now before it’s too late. Hug and kiss ur father, and say 'Happy Father's Day to him'. If u never do this, try to do it, and don't be suprised to see tears coming out on ur cheeks.

-          No need to give them an expensive gift
Many of us think to valued somebody, we should give them an expensive gift to show our love and appreciation. Well, maybe that’s true for people like Siti Nurhaliza. But for a real people like us who living in the real world and not some kind of fantasy, they know that to show love to someone, it’s is not about how expensive u can buy gift for him, but its about how well u treat him. So instead of u ‘bribing’ ur father with an expensive gift, it’s better for u to treat ur father nicely, maybe bring him to have a nice dinner with u. But I prefer to have teh tarik with my father at mamaks. This is better than Rolex. (Its also because I can't afford it!)

-          Do not throw him out of ur house
This maybe sounds ridiculous, but hey, that’s the trend of children nowadays. U read the newspaper, and u must be surprised of how many children that willing to leave his parents at the bus stop, at the railway station, at the road side. Poor the old father who got nowhere to go. Please don’t do that to our father. Family is something u will always have but the challenge of family can be complicated. The love of family is always overwhelm by the crisis that a family deals with in learning to live together. The crisis happen when our old father have to stay with us. So beware, control urself, always have to be patient, never ever abandon our father coz he never did that to us when we were small. Take care of him as how he take care of us, coz someday our children also will do the same to us.

-          Go and pray with ur father (for muslim)
What else is happier than seeing a whole family praying together? That’s the real beauty and happiness of family in Islam. If some of us prefer to pray alone in the room, change it, go and pray with ur father when u have the chance. Instead of making ur relation with ur father closer, u also can gain blessing from Allah. That the point here.

-          Support the political party that he’s supporting right now
Hehe. This is funny. I just put it. If ur father is a strong supporter of any political group, just go and join him support that party. But at least maybe u wanna give a thought if he is a strong supporter of Sammy Vellu. Haha. Sorry Uncle Sam!

-          Crack some jokes and makes him laugh
All of us know that laugh is the best medicine ever. Laugh can bring happiness, can reduce the stress and can bring people together. U know ur father better. U know what he like and what he dislike. U know what can make him happy, how to make him smile and jokes that can make him laugh. So try to do or say something that can make him laugh with ur jokes. Just imagine how happy it would be to see our old father laughing happily with us. So nice. But please don’t exaggerate. U have to remember that he is ur father, not ur friend, so watch the limit.

-          Be a successful person
This is what all fathers want from his children. They don’t want ur money, they don’t want ur car, they don’t want ur house, they don’t want ur popularity, they just want to see u happy and be a successful person. Which fathers are not happy and proud when see his own children becoming a doctor, an engineer, a lawyer, an architect, a teacher. We don’t want to brakes their heart by becoming mat rempit, mat ganja and mat ragut. Right?

-          Thanks to him
When is the last time u thanks ur father for growing u up? When is the last time u thanks ur father for sending u to the school? When is the last time u thanks ur father for buying u new shoes? Children blessed with a loving father should consider themselves fortunate. For, they have someone to take care of their needs and interests. Someone to stop them when they are diverting to a wrong path and guide them on a road to success and virtue. This is the right moment to thanks him for everything that he did to us. Thanks him for being our father. Thanks him for being our hero. Thanks him for everything.

Remember, ur parents did all the sacrifice for u, long before u could say a word. They did it, not because they had to, but because they loved u and they will keep doing it again and again, always and forever.

For them, loving u is like breathing, how can they stop? But the real question is, how about us? Can we do the same to them?

My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me
