Aiyo, what is wrong with our media nowadays? Day by days it’s getting suck and unacceptable.
TV3 has just withdrawn a Hari Raya greeting which apparently tried to be too creative by depicting a Christmas theme rather than Islamic flavour.
It has been a sudden protests in the internet based media on TV3′s Aidilfitri advertisement for this year. Be it Facebook or blogs, certainly TV3 have failed in the first place by approving the idea of the advert.
Announcing this on its prime time Malay bulletin, TV3 decided to withdraw the clip after taking into account protests from Muslims, and offered its apology.
What is wrong with our media nowadays? Everything seems so wrong. Everyone’s like compete again each other to promote 1Malaysia concept that they suddenly not aware of what were they doing. Although they are trying to promote 1Malaysia, don’t overdo it to the extent of ignoring the sensitivity of religion and Muslim way of life.
I’m sure TV3 will pulled this out but for a such thing to happen in this country and from a leading TV channel in Malaysia, it’s such a shame for Media Prima corporate! Somebody should get fired dude!
Watching this ad is like watching Christmas ads and guess what, it’s not even December yet!
Among others, the one-minute or so greeting attemped to combine elements of Christmas, as well as Hinduism and Buddhism, showing a Santa Claus-like old man riding a trishaw, only that it has lotus flowers and oil lamps instead of reindeers.
This is a mockery to Islam and gives the impression of polytheism especially to the young viewers. It hurts the feelings and sensitivity of Muslims. It’s like watching ad made by someone who didn’t know what Islam is or don’t have any religion sensitivity.
Even with the withdrawal of Santa-Hindu-Buddhist-themed Raya ads still not enough to make Muslims all over Malaysia happy. We are being ridiculed by this ad, it's not only the audience that are being insulted but the people in the ad especially the kids and old man. We taught our kids to beware of strangers; and yet they happily accepted to go for this ride and the old man left the kids on this deserted lalang-grown hillside.
And I'm quite puzzled why it was approved by the Information Ministry at the first place. Maybe Dato’ Rais Yatim have some explaination to do.
Otherwise maybe it’s time for us (Muslims) to boycott some of TV3′s and Media Prima’s television networks programme.
They presumably religion ignorant people – TV3 and Ministry of Information. When comes the case of non-muslim enter the mosque, they never stop barking like all the time. But when TV3 humiliated Islam, nobody want to bark or say anything. Is it fair?
So TV3 and the Ministry, we the Muslims citizen of Malaysia demand not only a PUBLIC Apology but also action to be taken on this serious matter!
Bottom line is religion celebration is not a fairy tale, guys! Somebody should get fired!
This is the TV3 Raya ad :
This one is 100 times better :

Muslimin lupa atau langsung tak tahu Eid bukan hari berseronok-seronok dengan duniawi tetapi adalah HARI KEBESARAN ALLAH.
seems like the pak haji forgot to bring gifts in the gunny and he should wear red uniform.haha..actually mixing the culture on one ad gonna be cool if they know how to do, just like 'Gong xi Raya' ads last time.but this one really terrible, i dont know where is the creativity.we totally lost our identity on this ad.by by the way, thank to u because i didn't notice about this ad before.
i take this chance to wish u :
HAPPY HARI RAYA, MAAF ZAHIR & BATIN. GOOD LUCK 4 EVERYTHING.
:) if i may say so..kita bebas dr penjajahan segi fizikal tp belum cukup bebas dr segi minda...there's no harm in being 1 malaysia..tp berpada2 la...i'm not racist..but in certain thing i'm still a typical malay
i ♥ the raya advertisement by maxis this year...
i'm so shock after watching this advertisement. It's more to christmas rather than raya. And i found that no moral values in this advertisement..it's like the malay version of christmas ads with atuk replaced santa claus..i think the government have to look even more serious in this matter because eventhough we live in multiple races in one country, we still have our own sensitivity and be respectful to each other's religion is the most important key in keeping the harmony in this country.
that is where 1malaysia's gonna lead us. they think they are creative enough but that just proved that they are trying to 'culture the religion'. how can we let our children live in a future like that?
when i first saw the ad, i knew, something's just not right.
happened to be everyone was thinking the same, by posting it at blogs or FBs.
oh, I love the ad from the telekom one.
HA! Well, you know what Fared, if you own a media company, that's how you live. Fanning the government as hard as you can, then your rating will increase.
Damn, nice house.
It is time for us to control the media. Not the media controlling us.
the second video... ya Allah.. so touching ;(
unfortunately, unable to view the first one [tv3's]
people make mistakes, but mistakes that touch the sensitivity of others is the most critical and should be avoided~
eceh...
selamat hari raya!
note:
*we still in the holy month of ramadhan, lets do our best to get His bless:)
come on..giv it a break la brother..they ord apologized..so this is how a muslim act?not forgive n forget?im not a muslim but im sure forgive n forget is wat one shud do,watever religioun u r...people make mistake..n they deserve to giv 2nd chance.furthermore, they did withdrawn n apologized. hurmmm...i think most people is too sensitive bout this clip...their thinking is too narrow n din c the true meaning...please be open-minded n savor the true meaning of 1Malaysia...no offend.just my opinion.peace~
They have taken 1Malaysia context too far lah. Jauh betul perginya. Harap jumpa jalan pulang. Hehe.
Btw, mmmm 1Malaysia tu pada pemahaman aku lah, ialah hidup berharmoni dgn satu sama lain tak kire bangsa & agama dan sambil memahami & hormati fahaman agama masing2 & tahu sensitivitinya. Bukannya mencampor aduk elemen perayaan atau ugama situ sikit, sini sikit sampai jadi cacamarba.
Gomen tolong monitor skit 1Malaysia yg digarap utk agenda yg songsang & menyimpang.
@anon
Yes there is a message in the ad. But the thing is the way they present it. It's not how Aidilfitri actually is. All teratai and stuffs. So please dear anon, study more. If you don't, zip it :)
couple years back, the Mufti in singapore was pictured (papers) with complete white beard and a red hat... honestly... he could be a dead ringer for mr santas claus himself....
iklan paling rendah nilai sepanjang sejarah tv3! haha..wasted RM 200k...iklan pkns lagi bermakna...
maCy baru baca pasal makna semua isi2 tersirat tersurat iklan tu. sangat dahsat~

sensitiviti di kalangn umat islam makin menurun terhadap teori dan perancangn yahudi laknatullah
my sister said that, this ad was made by Chinese. i think, media prima shud be more aware of this kind of matter. they shud hired someone that know about Islam, and of courde a lot of Muslim out there have lots of better ideas and more creative than this.
last but not least, have a nice eid day bro!!i am looking 4wad for ur upcoming post
